Pelangiran Police Ensure Security at Ramadan Market, Kapolsek Highlights Community Safety

Pelangiran - Pelangiran Police Sector (Polsek) personnel, led by Bripka Saftia Rani, have intensified security measures for the annual Ramadan market in Pelangiran Village, Pelangiran District. The operation, conducted throughout the holy month, aims to safeguard traders and visitors while ensuring smooth economic activities. Kapolsek Pelangiran, Iptu Anton Hilman, SH., MH, emphasized that the initiative reflects the police’s commitment to public safety during high-traffic religious events.

According to Iptu Anton Hilman, the security strategy includes routine patrols, crowd control, and coordination with local stakeholders. “Our priority is to create a secure and orderly environment so that residents can shop comfortably while observing Ramadan traditions,” he stated. Over 150 personnel have been deployed to monitor the market’s busiest hours, particularly during *bukber* (breaking of the fast) and evening prayers.

Bripka Saftia Rani, leading the field operations, highlighted the team’s focus on preventing theft, traffic congestion, and disputes among traders. “We’re working in shifts to maintain 24-hour vigilance, especially around essential areas like food stalls and prayer spaces,” she explained. The Kapolsek praised Rani’s leadership, noting her experience in managing similar events. “Bripka Rani’s dedication sets a standard for our team’s professionalism,” he added.

The Ramadan market, which hosts hundreds of vendors selling food, clothing, and religious items, has drawn large crowds daily. Iptu Anton Hilman urged traders to adhere to safety regulations, including fire prevention and cleanliness protocols. “Community cooperation is vital. We’ve held dialogues with vendors to address concerns and streamline operations,” he said.

Local residents expressed appreciation for the police presence. A vendor, Siti Rahma, shared, “Seeing officers patrol regularly makes us feel protected, especially during late-night sales.” The Kapolsek responded, “Positive feedback motivates us to improve services. We’re here not just to enforce rules but to build trust.”

In addition to security, police are managing traffic flow around the market’s perimeter and conducting random checks on vehicles to deter crime. Iptu Anton Hilman also reminded visitors to stay vigilant. “While we’ve minimized risks, the public must report suspicious activities immediately,” he advised.

With Ramadan entering its final week, authorities are preparing for a surge in visitors ahead of Eid al-Fitr. The Kapolsek confirmed that security personnel will remain on high alert until the market closes. “We’re coordinating with local government to ensure a safe transition into Eid celebrations,” he stated.

Closing his remarks, Iptu Anton Hilman reaffirmed the police’s dedication: “Security is a shared responsibility. Together, we can make Ramadan a peaceful and joyful experience for all.” The Pelangiran Police’s proactive measures underscore their role in fostering community resilience during Indonesia’s most sacred month.
